Regular household refuse is accepted. For a large cleanout or remodeling project, contact GFL about renting a roll-off dumpster.

Place recycling loose in a designated blue recycling cart. Do not use plastic bags. Contact GFL if you need a recycling cart.
Occasional qualifying furniture may be collected, but large piles and sleeper sofas are not accepted. Mattresses and box springs must meet the provider’s size and weight rules.

The Village provided waste disposal at a reduced rate for more than 25 years. As disposal costs increased to more than 11% of the total Village budget, the Board of Trustees increased the fee from $10 to $20 per month beginning May 1, 2024.
The Village receives less than five cents of each property-tax dollar. Slightly more than three cents is legally dedicated to the police pension fund, leaving approximately one cent per dollar for other Village services such as police, Public Works, streets, sidewalks, fire, and emergency services.
Residents registered for the senior freeze property-tax exemption with Peoria County pay the reduced waste-disposal fee of $10 per month.
